Room 8 has been doing bean experiments and we had to have a bean a wet paper towel a plastic cup we have just started. room 8 has been growing  there beans for four days and  we are going.To all make ourselves a box like this one  and every day we have to water our plants how to make a bean plant
follow these simple steps

1. get a plastic cup 

2. put a wet paper towel in the plastic cup scrunched up 

3.put a bean in the cup put soil in as well and water everyday  you will now grow your bean until it grows 

Go All Blacks

    Go All blacks. Yesterday  Vardon school had a photo shoot for an All Blacks competition for Argentina vs the All Blacks. If you win this competition an All Black will come and visit   your classroom. Your classroom had to be completely black with everyone wearing black and it was very funny and.we had lots of fun screaming cheering and being crazy. It was a great moment.  I loved holding the world cup  and doing the Mexican wave.  We had a photographer named Sandy and he made us this awesome poster with the photos that we took. Mac's mum Justine came in and helped us to get ready for the photo. She brought in two Argentina shirts for the Argentinian spectators.

Kapa haka

 For the last few weeks I have been doing Kapa Haka and we have learnt four new songs. We have learned songs called Papake titaha, tokato , Hei Honore. I have been enjoying Kapa Haka and it is really fun. I have been doing Kapa Haka for four years. I love doing Kapa Haka and my teacher is very proud.

Magic wish kites

This is me with my wish kite

I have got this wish kite because we started reading the book called the Peasant Prince.  It is a book about a boy called Li Cunxin and he has a chance to be a ballet dancer and we were told to make a kite that had three wishes. My personal wish is to keep my bedroom clean,  my family wish is to help my grandma with her chemo and my world wish is to help stop starvation.

Poetry week

Poetry week, this is going to be awesome! Quick I've got to start poem practicing.

My favourite thing about poem week  was sharing poems every day. My favourite poem was Betty Botter because it is a tongue twister.

• A poem can have alliteration

Museum trip!

Room 8 and Room 7  went to the museum and it was amazing. At the end we got to make our own head piece. We decided to make a preying mantis hat. First we got our inspiration from the praying mantis outfit. Jaeydan, Mac and I made the preying mantis hat. We drew it first then made it out of paper. I am the second person in the line in the above picture. We had a lot of fun. I'm sure that everyone else enjoyed it.

Danish rounders

Quick, quick, quick, run those bases  Oisin. Win us a home run. and and he gets it wahoo. Man I am sweating like a warthog. Yesterday we played a game of Danish rounders and I got around all the bases. I hope I'm good at Fielding and i was  very good I had a really great game.

mac's party

Hurry hurry Mum! I can't wait any longer. Speed up that walking  because i'm too excited  to go to Mac's party. In the weekend I went to Mac's birthday party and I got him lego chima. I got him the cragger cart.  We had burgers and hot chips  for dinner and in the morning we had bacon and eggs and hash brows for breakfast.  Then we went to the lake and we did some fishing. We  didn't catch anything but after  we went home and had a scrumpsis cake and then we all went home.

Term 1 Reflection

My highlight of term 1 was having school camp because we had yummy burgers and there were really fun activities.


I think that I have improved with my maths because now I  can tell the time on digital clocks and analogue time.



I think that my goal for term two is to not talk on the mat so that I don't have to stop my own learning time.

Scribble and Scrawl

Yesterday we did a poem  called Scribble and Scrawl and it was so fun because I got to act out the dad  and I got to yell "how dare you draw on my wall". I think that was the best poem.   In room 8  we have been learning the scr blend.

  

Today we had oral language . It was science today  Ranjiv  showed us some   rocks. The rock looked like a christmas tree.

"Quickly relays Ashton, were going to win! last week was  our camp week and we did lots of stuff . First I started slip and slide  then I went to the pool  then we went to relays it was so fun.

2013

I am looking forward to learning new things at school . I can't wait till the school bbq and looking forward to having harder challenges then last year.  I can't wait till camp I am working with Oisin and I am Adam. We are  really happy to be back at school.
